The Office for Social Justice and Advocacy (SJA) is a centralized department overseeing Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s comprehensive initiatives supporting SJA as outlined in the University Strategic Plan. The Office works with students, faculty, staff and alumni to embed the values and mission of the office across all areas of the University, including academics, programming, fundraising, policies and procedures.
Building on Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s core values, historical origins, and best practices, the SJA Office will mobilize creative approaches to advise, support and foster diversity, equity, inclusion and opportunity toward a cultural shift essential to social justice and the experiences of our community.
The Advisory Council provides critical input, direction and work with the SJA office to ensure that the values and mission of the office will be embedded across all areas of the University. The advisory council reflects the diversity of the Â鶹´«Ã½ community, in race, gender and sexuality, age, ability, nationality and religion. Council members represent faculty from each college, staff from various offices, students, alumni and University trustees. All members have demonstrated knowledge and passion for SJA work, both at Â鶹´«Ã½ and in their respective communities.
